Overview

General Motors was reportedly readying an SUV version of its Camaro muscle car, and we speculated that such a vehicle would come to market as a 2025 model. We don’t know if the Camaro SUV is still on the table, but if it is it's certainly been delayed. We expected the crossover would ride on GM’s Ultium battery-electric platform, which should satisfy EV fans, although it may infuriate some muscle-car purists. In a move similar to the positioning of the current Corvette and Camaro sports cars, we expected the Camaro SUV to be offered as a more affordable alternative to a Corvette SUV.

What's New?

The Camaro SUV would have been an entirely new product. We expected it to enter the market for the 2025 model year and carry on the essence of the iconic Camaro coupe, which was discontinued after the 2024 model year.

    The electric Camaro SUV models could still make production, but we probably won’t know more about them until they've been confirmed. That said, we expected it to carry a premium over the current gasoline-powered models given its increased functionality and potential performance capability.
