Overview
The quiet nature of electric vehicles makes perfect sense for ultra-luxury cars like the 2025 Rolls-Royce Spectre. Not only does the silent powertrain contribute to a sense of solitude, but the two motors’ 577 horsepower provides the same effortless pull as the Spectre’s siblings’—the Cullinan, Ghost, and Phantom—internal-combustion V-12 engine does. Accessed by opening one of two rear-hinged doors, the coupe’s cabin is lavish and beyond comfortable. Fine materials line every square inch of the interior, and Rolls-Royce smartly integrates modern technology without ruining the cabin’s classic vibes. Driving range comes in as high as an estimated 291 miles on a full charge; however, ordering the larger 23-inch wheels drops that estimate to just 266 miles. That’s less than rivals such as the BMW i7 and the Lucid Air Grand Touring. Those two luxury sedans also don’t cost as much as the Spectre, though neither has the grandeur and gravitas of a Rolls-Royce.
What's New for 2025?
Rolls-Royce has added a more powerful Black Badge version of the Spectre to the lineup for 2025. The Spectre Black Badge boasts 73 more horsepower than the standard variant and features two new driving modes—Infinity and Spirited—which unlock the extra power for swifter acceleration. A retuned suspension system is said to improve handling while extra weighting has been added to the steering feel to impart a feeling of sportiness.
If this year's model has no changes, this is your cue to save by looking at cars from previous model years. You can almost always get the features you want for less money by purchasing a one-to-three-year-old model.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
Rolls-Royce will let you customize a Spectre pretty much any way you want. And that's a good thing, because, with a price tag this high, we expect buyers will want something truly personalized.

EV Motor, Power, and Performance
The standard Spectre comes with a dual-motor electric powertrain with 577 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. After taking the Spectre on a test drive, we can assure you this is more than enough power to move the big coupe with authority. The Black Badge variant gets a sharp increase in power and torque to 650 horsepower and 793 pound-feet. Although sharp impacts still make themselves known, Rolls-Royce has installed adaptive suspension to ensure an appropriately isolated ride over all but the biggest bumps, and the engineers also made room for a massive amount of sound-deadening material to maintain a whisper-quiet cabin. And oh how quiet it is. On the road, the Spectre is so silent inside that your ears pick up almost no sounds until you get up to 80 mph and the wind starts to only slightly penetrate into the tomb-like cabin. At our test track, we recorded a very quiet 63-dB reading on our sound meter at a 70 mph cruise.
0–60-MPH Times
When we took a Spectre to our test track to gather acceleration data, it hit 60 mph in 3.7 seconds. You may scoff at that result and point to the Tesla Model S Plaid that hit 60 mph in 2.1 seconds in our testing, but we'd be quick to remind you that Rolls-Royce's brand ethos is more about quiet cruising than mind-bending performance. The Black Badge model will certainly be quicker to 60 mph than the standard one we tested, but we won't know exactly how quick it is until we can put it through its paces.
Range, Charging, and Battery Life
The Spectre sports a 102.0-kWh battery borrowed from the BMW i7 which is estimated to provide a driving range of up to 266 miles per charge when paired with 23-inch wheels. Going with the smaller 22-inch wheels increases the range estimate to as much as 291 miles per charge. Our test car wore the 23-inch wheels but still delivered an impressive 260 miles in our real-world highway range testing. DC fast-charging is standard, but we'd guess that most Spectre buyers will have a charging system installed at their estates so they aren't forced to wait around in the parking lot of a Walmart like the rest of us.
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPGe
The EPA estimates that the most fuel-efficient Spectre should deliver 77 MPGe city and 86 MPGe highway. For more information about the Spectre's fuel economy, visit the EPA's website.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
The Spectre's cabin offers space for four with bucket seats in both rows. Rear-hinged coach doors take some getting used to, but they open wide to make accessing the rear seat easy. Anyone familiar with Rolls-Royce's current interior design will find a similarly sybaritic one here, although the company has added several design features that are unique to Spectre. For example, in addition to the brand's signature starry-night headliner, the Spectre's door panels rock a similar twinkle with tiny LED lights sparkling in the area surrounding the armrests. There is also a seemingly endless array of personalization options and material choices.
Infotainment and Connectivity
All Spectres come with a touchscreen infotainment system nestled into its well-trimmed dashboard. A digital gauge cluster is standard too. The technology is well-integrated into the Spectre's interior design and doesn't distract from the ambiance. A Bespoke Audio stereo system is available and includes attractive aluminum speaker grilles.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
Rolls-Royce offers several driver-assistance features as standard, including automated emergency braking and adaptive cruise control. For more information about the Spectre's crash-test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites. Key safety features include:
- Standard automated emergency braking
- Standard lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist
- Standard adaptive cruise control with a lane-centering feature
Warranty and Maintenance Coverage
Like the rest of the Rolls-Royce lineup, the Spectre comes with a four-year warranty and maintenance package, which doesn't expire at a certain mileage limit.
- Limited warranty covers four years or unlimited miles
- Powertrain warranty covers four years or unlimited miles
- Complimentary maintenance is covered for four years or unlimited miles
