Cars with the Best Gas Mileage
When shopping for a new car, one of the most important factors is the vehicle's efficiency. Most modern vehicles are far more efficient than cars in years past, but some models outperform others. This list contains mainstream hybrid, plug-in-hybrid, and gasoline-only sedans and hatchbacks, and all of them are rated to deliver over 33 mpg combined. We've ranked the cars with the best gas mileage based on official fuel efficiency data and ratings from the EPA. They are ranked in order from best to worst by combined mpg figures, though some entries here may list MPGe figures—these "mpg equivalent" numbers apply only to plug-in hybrids.
