Subaru's new entry-level electric SUV is the 2026 Uncharted, and it is intended to be an EV equivalent to the brand's popular Crosstrek subcompact crossover.
Three trims are offered, including a base front-wheel-drive Premium and a midrange Sport. The one pictured here is the top-spec GT.
While the front-wheel-drive model gets a single motor with 224 horsepower, the Sport and GT are all-wheel drive and feature a dual-motor setup with 338 ponies.
Acceleration is brisk, even in the most conservative driving mode.
Handling is fairly forgettable, but the Uncharted should satisfy casual drivers.
The ride is smooth and agreeable, even when riding on the GT's handsome 20-inch wheels.
Exterior styling kind of looks like a futuristic version of the Crosstrek.
The rear glass is sloped dramatically, so there is no rear wiper.
The rear door handles are cleverly hidden in the C pillar.
If the Uncharted looks familiar, it's because it shares its platform and some of its design elements with the Toyota C-HR.
The Uncharted can be found at Subaru dealerships with a starting price of just $36,445 for the Premium FWD. All-wheel-drive Sport and GT trims go for $41,245 and $45,245, respectively.
