The redesigned 2026 Audi A6 is much improved with a host of enhancements, many of which are standard. Unfortunately, some of the coolest upgrades are pricey extras.
The new A6 is built on Audi's Premium Platform Combustion architecture and starts at a reasonable $65,395.
The outgoing version's four-cylinder models are no more, but the now-standard turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 has been boosted to 362 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque.
A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and all-wheel drive remain standard.
An optional S Line Black Optic package brings more aggressive bumpers and darkened exterior accents, but they diminish some of the car's shapelier curves.
Also available is a new Sport Plus package (pictured here) that almost transforms the A6 into a performance-oriented S6 model.
Included in the Sport Plus bundle are a lowered sport suspension, 21-inch wheels with summer tires, rear-axle steering, a torque-vectoring rear differential, and more.
The catch is that the Sport Plus package is only available on the top Prestige trim level, upping the car's entry point to nearly $80,000.
Even without the Sport Plus package, the Prestige model is the only way to get height-adjustable air springs and adaptive dampers.
Lesser trim levels make do with coil springs and passive dampers.
Being an Audi, fancy LED head- and taillights also are part of the A6's overhaul.
