The Honda Passport got an overhaul for the 2026 model year and earned a spot on our 2026 10Best list. We enjoyed our last long-term Passport, so we invited the new one for a 40,000-mile shakedown.
The new 2026 Passport is bringing boxy back, baby!
Our long-term Passport is a TrailSport Elite trim, as you can tell from its exposed front recovery points, plastic body cladding, fake hood inlet, and amber daytime running lights.
A standard all-wheel-drive system and 18-inch wheels wrapped in General Grabber A/T Sport all-terrain tires aid traction in the snow.
We opted for Sunset Orange paint, which carries a $455 upcharge.
The Passport's boxy proportions make for a large cargo hold.
Under the hood is a 3.5-liter V-6 with 285 horsepower, a 5-hp increase over the previous-generation Passport.
Other standard features on our long-termer include heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic moonroof, heated side mirrors, a Bose audio system, a power liftgate, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Honda says the Passport's recovery points are strong enough to support twice the SUV's weight.
Amber daytime running lights add to the Passport TrailSport's visual identity.
