The GLB350 adds a front-mounted motor, with its AWD setup providing 349 hp and 380 pound-feet, punting it to 60 mph in a claimed 5.4 seconds.

Along with a wheelbase that has been stretched 2.4 inches, the new GLB is 3.9 inches longer overall. It's also 1.1 inches wider and 0.9 inch shorter.

The SUV's battery pack is estimated to provide up to around 330 miles of range when paired with the RWD model, but that estimate will shrink a bit with AWD.

Each electric GLB can charge at up to 320 kilowatts on a DC fast-charger; an AC charger provides up to 9.6 kilowatts.

One of the GLB's new design elements is a full-width light bar that connects its headlights. The latter incorporate the brand's three-pointed-star motif.

The electric GLB models provide extra storage up front with a trunk under their hoods.

These attractive wheels have an intricate design, but they're also optimized to be aerodynamic to help promote maximum driving range.

When the GLB-class EVs go on sale late next year, we expect the single-motor rear-drive 250+ to start at around $50,000.
