The new Tesla Model Y Performance is more about everyday usability than track-day hustle, and we think the car is better for it.
Since it's not an outright track car, Tesla ditched the Track mode for 2026.
But the Model Y Performance is still a straight-line shooter with plenty of handling chops.
A pair of electric motors combine to produce 510 horsepower.
Tesla estimates a 60-mph time of 3.3 seconds, but we think it'll do slightly better at our test track.
The old Performance's multimode stability-control has been pared back. Now there's a Reduced setting on offer, and that's it.
