The Crater concept has bulky wheel arches to house the 18-inch wheels wrapped in 33-inch tires, and the black trim features the pixelated camo finish seen previously on the Ioniq 5 XRT.

Hyundai's pixel lights, a hallmark of the company's EV lineup, appear throughout the car, including on the four auxiliary lights attached to the sleek roof rack.

The Crater concept is equipped with cameras instead of traditional side-view mirrors, which can be detached and used as either a flashlight or a camera for filming your adventures when exploring in nature.

The cabin has a rugged vibe, with a built-in roll cage and seats made up of cylindrical elements, which Hyundai says are inspired by sleeping bags.

The robotic face seen on the end of the dashboard is Crater Man, a sort of mascot for the car who is subtly integrated throughout the design and even serves as a character in the concept's built-in game mode.

The Crater concept doesn't have a large touchscreen, instead employing a head-up display that spans the width of the windshield. There are also plenty of physical controls, including buttons on the steering wheel for the drive modes.

The front skid plate has integrated tow hooks: this one also acts as a bottle opener and features Crater Man's face.

The concept isn't necessarily previewing a direct production model but instead shows that Hyundai is serious about making more capable vehicles for its XRT subbrand.
