The 2009 Honda S2000 that recently visited our offices reminded us of how great a focused car can be, but also how hard it can be to live with.
The essential S2000 formula is evident here in the CR: two seats, six-speed manual transmission, few frills.
The nacelles behind the seats are a CR-only feature.
Convertibles deserve some flair on their seats, and the CR has it,
Air conditioning and a radio were options on the CR.
To its everlasting credit, the S2000 was only built with a manual transmission—and a glorious one at that.
This later "AP2" car has a lower redline than the 2.0-liter AP1 cars, but it still revs to 8000 rpm.
The red starter button was to the left of the steering wheel, Porsche-style.
At 6000 rpm, the VTEC switches to party mode.
