The Chevy Bolt returns for the 2027 model year, rocking a revised exterior design and reworked underpinnings while retaining an affordable starting price.
The 2027 Bolt uses the same basic body as the outgoing Bolt EUV but with refreshed front and rear ends.
The headlights pair slim LED "eyebrows" with the main unit mounted in the bumper below, with the daytime running lights linked by a black trim piece.
The bumper features a smaller, trapezoidal black trim piece, which sits below a chunky body-colored panel.
The rear bumper is sleeker than before, and all of the lighting functions now live in the taillights mounted just below the rear windshield.
The platform is an evolution of the previous Bolt's BEV2 architecture, but features a new lithium-iron-phosphate battery with 65 kWh of usable capacity.
Chevy claims a 255-mile range, only slightly better than the outgoing Bolt EUV's 247-mile EPA rating.
Charging is vastly improved, however, with a NACS port coming as standard, letting owners utilize Tesla Superchargers without needing an adapter.
The peak charging rate is now 150 kilowatts, up from just 50 before, and the Bolt can go from 10 to 80 percent in a claimed 26 minutes.
The Bolt will be built in Kansas and will go on sale early next year.
The initial launch will feature the LT trim at $29,990, but a base 1LT trim will come later in 2026 with a $28,995 starting price.
