The Tesla Model 3 Standard begs the question: Are you willing to sacrifice some niceties in order to save $5000?
Unless a keen eye catches the new front-facing lower camera, you'd have a hard time telling the Model 3 Standard's front fascia apart from any other.
The battery loses approximately 10 percent of its capacity compared with the Premium RWD (formerly known as Long Range RWD).
The EPA estimates a range of 321 miles with the standard 18-inch wheels, lowering to 303 miles with the optional 19-inchers.
The Model 3 Standard makes a claimed 286 horsepower from its single rear-mounted electric motor, which is good for a 5.8-second sprint to 60 mph, 0.9 second behind the Premium RWD.
The Model 3 Standard will set you back $38,630, which is $5500 less than the Model 3 Premium RWD.
