After installing a hybrid powertrain in the new 911 GTS, Porsche is now giving the iconic 911 Turbo S the same treatment, boosting output to 701 horsepower.
While the 911 GTS used a single electric turbocharger, the 992.2-gen 911 Turbo S ups the ante with two electric turbochargers.
Those turbos are strapped to the new 3.6-liter flat-six, replacing the twin-turbo 3.7-liter engine from the pre-refresh Turbo S.
Together with a tiny battery, the T-Hybrid system cranks out 701 horsepower, up by 61 versus the previous Turbo S, and 590 pound-feet of torque.
Porsche claims the new 911 Turbo S will be two-tenths quicker to 60 mph and a half-second ahead by the 124 mph mark. Top speed is claimed to be 200 mph.
Porsche also fitted wider tires and new pads for the ceramic-composite brakes to improve handling and stopping prowess.
The 2026 911 Turbo S still looks quintessentially 911, but it has similar front air intakes to the GTS, featuring a series of vertical strakes.
As always, an easy way to tell the Turbo S apart from lesser 911s is by the large intake mounted just ahead of the rear wheels.
The Turbo S also sports a redesigned rear bumper with extra openings for ventilation beneath a mean-looking wing.
The Turbo S coupe will come with only two seats, but rear seats can be added for free; all Turbo S convertibles will be able to carry rear passengers.
The 2026 911 Turbo S will start at a lofty $272,650 for the coupe and $286,650 for the Cabriolet.
