The new generation of the Mercedes-Benz CLA-class is offering an electric variant for the first time, and we've just driven the EV version in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The CLA-class is a four-door sedan that serves as the entry point to the Mercedes-Benz lineup.
This new model has a swoopy look that's meant to be aerodynamic to aid efficiency.
The overall shape is not too different from the previous model, but the design looks smoother, and the headlights and taillights are more modern.
The EV model is offered with a choice of two powertrains: the CLA250+ and the CLA350.
The CLA350 is a dual-motor all-wheel-drive model with 349 horsepower.
The CLA250+ has a rear-wheel-drive single-motor setup with 268 horsepower.
The star motif is particularly present on the CLA's front end, incorporated into the grille and headlights.
We don't have final EPA numbers yet, but we're expecting the CLA to deliver big range thanks to its impressive efficiency.
There will also be a hybrid version of the CLA-class coming later with a gas engine.
Mercedes will offer the CLA in the U.S. with a variety of options, including an AMG Line styling package.
