The refreshed 2026 Lexus RZ has an interior that isn't much different than before, with the exception of that funky steering wheel.
The U.S. won't get it this year, but in the near future, the Lexus RZ will come with an optional steer-by-wire setup.
Unlike traditional steering setups, which retain a physical column connecting the wheel to the steering rack, Lexus's new steer-by-wire system eliminates the mechanical redundancy altogether.
If you opt for steer-by-wire, you also get this yoke in place of a traditional steering wheel.
Steering sensitivity adjusts based on speed, so low-speed and high-speed inputs will generate different outputs, which requires some re-learning on the fly.
Lexus also improved its electrochromic roof for 2026. It now shifts between transparent and translucent with greater haste.
