The Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 takes the GLS-class SUV and turns it up a level.
The GLS600 gets its own front-end styling with a massive chrome grille. Our test example also had two-tone paint.
The Maybach's twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 makes 550 horsepower, a minor increase over the Benz GLS580 version's 510 horses.
Those 550 horses can pull this luxury SUV from zero to 60 mph in under four seconds.
Our test car had these lacy-spoke wheels festooned with Maybach logos, but more understated monoblock wheels are also available.
The Maybach has a Curve mode, which uses the quick-adjusting air springs to level out the body on winding roads.
The base price for the Maybach GLS600 is $179,600. Our test car was the Night Series, which starts at $205,200.
