After five years on sale, Land Rover is giving the Defender off-road a series of small updates to keep the SUV fresh, with the changes applying to all Defenders from the two-door 90 to the extra-long 130 model.
The exterior updates are tough to pick out, the most significant being new lighting graphics in the headlights and a new textured pattern for the trim on the hood and side vents.
The grille bar is now blacked out and is paired with a dark Land Rover badge, while the wheel center caps are gloss black and feature Defender branding.
The taillights now sit flush with the surrounding bodywork and feature smoked lenses.
The Defender also now offers new 22-inch seven-spoke wheels, and two new paint colors are available, Woolstone Green and Borasco Grey.
Land Rover rearranged the center console, moving the dashboard-mounted gear shifter to a more ergonomic location and creating a hidden compartment for small valuables.
The biggest change is a new 13.1-inch touchscreen, replacing the standard 10-inch and optional 11.4-inch displays from the outgoing Defender.
There's also a new driver-facing camera, which will monitor the driver's eyes to make sure that they are paying attention to the road.
The changes apply to all Defenders, from the two-door 90 model to the longest 130 model.
All Defenders now feature an adaptive off-road cruise control system, while the Defender 130 gets an optional integrated air compressor for changing tire pressures.
The 2026 Defender will likely go on sale by the end of 2025, and should start slightly higher than the $58,525 required for a 2025 model.
