BMW has introduced a new CS—short for Competition Sport—version of the beloved M2 sports coupe. BMW's CS models are enhanced M cars that are typically lighter and mightier than their non-CS counterparts.
The M2 CS has a twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight-six, same as the regular M2. However, the CS has 523 horsepower, which is 50 more than the non-CS model.
These gold forged wheels are exclusive to the new M2 CS, and they're wrapped with Michelin's racy Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
For those who like to get sideways, BMW has tweaked the M2's stability control and M Dynamic mode to give hooligans a longer leash.
Unfortunately, you can't get a manual on the new CS. Instead, every car has an eight-speed automatic that feeds the rear wheels.
While the shape of the M2's face isn't any different from the regular car, the CS does have different grille elements that are said to help improve air flow.
The CS treatment brings more lightweight parts and a retuned suspension. The latter includes a lower ride height and unique adaptive dampers.
BMW says the rear-drive M2 CS can hit 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, but we think it'll be even quicker than that.

Since the CS treatment removes weight, the M2 version should be lighter than the last 3745-pound manual car we tested.
The 2026 BMW M2 CS will start at $99,775 when it goes on sale later this year. That's over $30K more than the base car, which comes with a standard stick shift.
