Toyota first introduced a plug-in hybrid version of the RAV4 called the Prime in the previous generation. It was later renamed the RAV4 PHEV, and now the plug-in model is continuing into the new generation with numerous upgrades.
The RAV4 plug-in hybrid continues and is now available in more trim levels.
This is the new GR Sport trim, which comes with appearance tweaks and performance upgrades.
Toyota claims that the new RAV4 PHEV has more electric range than before, estimating it will be able to go 50 miles on a charge.
Certain versions of the PHEV also have DC fast-charging capabilities.
The GR Sport has 20-inch wheels wrapped in summer tires.
Toyota also said it retuned the GR Sport's suspension compared with other RAV4 PHEV models.
All trims of the PHEV, including the GR Sport, have 320 horsepower.
The three trims pictured here are the GR Sport, the Woodland, and the Limited.
