If the Mercedes-AMG SL63 is simply too hardcore and you want something that focuses on luxury instead of performance, then look to the Mercedes-Maybach SL680.
While some Maybach models put a little extra zoot under the hood, the SL680 has the same powertrain as the nonhybrid AMG SL63.
The twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 produces 577 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque.
A nine-speed automatic, all-wheel drive, and four-wheel steering are all standard.
Unsurprisingly, the Maybach's posh accoutrements carry a bit more mass than the AMG SL63.
As such, we estimate the 60-mph sprint should happen in around four seconds, or about a second longer than in the SL63.
