Luxury minivans have typically been restricted to markets like China and Japan where chauffeurs are more common, but Mercedes aims to launch the niche in the United States, previewing a production van due in 2026 with the Vision V concept seen here.
The Vision V features a glitzy interior full of white Nappa leather, polished aluminum, and glass elements.
While the focus is on the rear seats, the driver's area is equally high-end and features a Superscreen that stretches from pillar to pillar.
The rear compartment is really where it's at though, with two plush-looking chairs made out of a series of flexible tubular cushions.
The seats can recline to be completely flat, like a first-class airplane seat, and the center console features a fold-out that doubles as a chessboard.
The pièce de résistance is the colossal 65-inch that is stored in the floor and slides upwards when the passengers enter the cabin.
Along with the screen, seven projectors in the ceiling and floor can be utilized with the side windows—which can be made opaque at the push of a button—to expand the viewing surface for an immersive experience.
A 42-speaker Dolby Atmos surround sound system provides a lush audio experience to match the rich 4K resolution of the screen.
Mercedes envisions the screen being used for all sorts of activities, from taking video calls for work to shopping to karaoke.
A pair of glass cabinets on the walls allow for storage and also hold a set of beautifully crafted chess pieces.
The cabinets also contain video game consoles, allowing you to virtually "drive" a car while being driven in a real car.
