The Rivian R1S is entering its fourth model year, and the electric SUV sees some powertrain changes, including the arrival of the new Tri-Motor model, tested here.
The R1S doesn't look much different, but there are changes within.
The new Tri-Motor model makes 850 horsepower, which is more than the previous Quad-Motor version.
In our testing, the Tri-Motor blasted to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds.
The suspension has also been revised, but there's still further work to do.
The R1S is about two inches longer than a Ford Explorer.
