The new 2026 Outback is here, and the Wilderness trim level returns. As before, it features more ground clearance and plenty of rugged-looking design cues.
The Outback Wilderness has even more distinct styling than the standard model, with a unique grille treatment.
The Wilderness also has 9.5 inches of ground clearance, higher than the regular Outback.
The turbocharged 2.4-liter boxer-four engine is standard equipment on the Wilderness.
It produces 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.
Subaru says the Wilderness has better approach and departure angles.
This "SUBARU" script makes the front end look more menacing than vehicles with the standard Subaru Pleiades logo.
Bridgestone Dueler all-terrain tires wrap around 17-inch black wheels.
The Wilderness is rated to tow 3500 pounds.
All-wheel drive is, of course, standard. There's an X-Mode selector with various drive modes for different terrain.
