The new base-engine Alfa Romeo Tonale joins the lineup for 2025, slotting in below the returning plug-in Tonale Hybrid.
The new base-engine Tonale is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, which makes 268 horsepower.
The engine sends 295 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic.
In our testing, the junior Tonale accelerated to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds.
EPA fuel-economy estimates are 24 mpg combined, 29 mpg highway, and 21 mpg city.
Pricing for the new Tonale starts at $38,530, some $10K less than the plug-in hybrid version.
