The droptop version of Aston Martin's junior sports car returns for 2026, packing many of the same upgrades that the Vantage Coupe model received for the 2025 model year.
Under the hood, the twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 remains but gains a whopping 128-hp boost.
That means the Vantage Roadster is now sending 656 horsepower, along with 590 pound-feet of torque, exclusively to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The big change is, obviously, the retractable soft-top roof, which Aston Martin says can stow in just 6.8 seconds.
The roof can retract or deploy at up to 31 mph and can also be operated from outside the vehicle using the key, as long as the driver is within 6.5 feet of the car.
Aston Martin says it uses a "Z-fold" layout for the roof which saves weight and means it doesn't need a tonneau cover when stowed, creating a sleeker appearance.
The whole roof mechanism only adds 132 pounds compared to the Coupe, Aston Martin claims.
Aston Martin says the Roadster features extra structural elements in the rear to maintain a rigid structure, and the rear dampers and gearbox mounts have been tweaked to handle the added weight.
The Vantage Roadster also gains three new paint colors: Iridescent Sapphire, Satin Iridescent Sapphire, and Bronze Flare.
There's no word yet on pricing, but given the Coupe's pricing went up by nearly $40K for the 2025 update, the Roadster will almost definitely start at over $200,000.
