A convertible may not be the first thought for an Alpine ski holiday, but the 2025 Maserati GranCabrio Folgore is a slick snowy-climate ride.
We sampled the electric convertible sports car in Livigno, a ski resort town in northern Italy.
On the winding switchback roads in the Alps, the GranCabrio felt right at home.
We even did a stint with the top down, and you know what, despite the freezing temps we managed to create a comfortable cabin by using the heated seats, heated steering wheel, and headrest-mounted air vents.
While we preferred the matte blue paint job of our test car, Maserati also had a bright orange one there which really popped against the snowy backdrop.
The color is appropriately called Orange Devil.
The matte blue color we drove is called Azzuro Astro, and our car wore bright red interior upholstery.
Folgore models can be had with a leather-free upholstery called Econyl, made from recycled fishing nets. It looks and feels more premium than it sounds.
The orange car's interior was equipped with Econyl, which features a unique pattern of cutouts in the seatback and bottom that can be accented with contrasting color.
Top up or down, the GranCabrio Folgore works as grand touring sports car.
But we love it best when its cloth roof is stowed.
