The fifth-gen Honda Odyssey, now seven years old, gets a refresh for 2025.
The Odyssey's SOHC V-6 is old-school, in that it still uses the dramatic VTEC system that switches to more aggressive cam lobes at 5350 rpm.
The Odyssey sounds mean at high rpm and backs up the attitude with a 6.4-second 60-mph time.
Dedicated minivan maniacs might discover that the Odyssey is geared to stay in VTEC mode at the 4-5 shift. Which happens at 95 mph.
The Odyssey is also the quietest minivan by a wide margin, measuring 66 decibels at 70 mph. That's even quieter than the electric Volkswagen I.D. Buzz.
But at wide-open throttle, the Odyssey is the loudest minivan, at 80 decibels—that's the VTEC talking.
For comparable trim levels, 2025 Odysseys are between $510 and $1110 more expensive than last year.
The Odyssey's 0.73-g skidpad figure isn't a reflection on its steering, which is actually lively and fun.
