1984 Twin-Engine Honda CRX exterior and interior photos.
Back in 1985, Car and Driver had the swell idea to take a front-engine, front-wheel-drive Honda CRX and add to it a rear engine, driving the rear wheels. The resulting CRX-squared is once again on the road and wacky as ever.
A body kit gave our CRX a not-quite-stock look.
With two 1.8-liter Accord four-cylinder engines, the CRX made a hearty 202 horsepower.
Despite the extra weight, handling isn't too weird.
Pretty normal-looking from here.
One key starts both engines, one at a time.
Additional gauges help keep tabs on both engines.
The custom-made bulkhead almost looks stock.
The second engine sits just ahead of the rear axle line.
