1991 BMW 850i exterior and interior photos.
At the dawn of the 1990s, the 850i replaced the 6-series as BMW's grand touring coupe.
Compared to the 6-series, the 850i had a more aggressive look, with hidden headlights, bulging fenders, and a wider stance.
The 850i was a pillarless hardtop, which would have made it easy to design a convertible companion model, but one was never released.
At launch, the standard engine was a 5.0-liter V-12 with 296 horsepower.
The engine could be paired with a four-speed automatic or a six-speed manual.
