Jaguar launched a comprehensive rebrand last month with a series of new logos. Now it has shown the next step in its reinvention as a high-end luxury EV brand by revealing the Type 00 concept.
The concept features a long hood, short front overhang, and fastback silhouette, evoking the classic Jaguar E-type.
Those proportions are the only real nod to the past, with the details presenting a new brutalist vision for the future.
One of the key motifs on the Type 00 is the "strikethrough," a series of horizontal lines within a rectangular shape, which hides the taillights.
The "strikethrough" also appears on the roof in a glazed finish atop a glass panel and on the hood, spilling over onto the dashboard inside.
The Type 00's front end is extremely upright and is dominated by sharp creases.
The lighting consists of simple LED lines, giving the Type 00 an assertive face.
The Type 00 concept rides on massive 23-inch wheels with a design inspired by Art Deco.
The latest rendition of Jaguar's "leaper" logo appears on small brass trim elements, which extend to reveal the cameras that are fitted in place of side mirrors.
The panel above the brass element lifts to reveal the "Prism case," which stores a series of "totems," which can be used to change interior settings such as ambient lighting and screen graphics.
