The Ioniq is slightly larger than the Palisade with a wheelbase that stretches nine inches longer than the Palisade's and a roofline that sits 1.6 inches higher.
The interior can be configured with six- or seven-seat configurations.
In some markets, the second-row captain's chairs can swivel to face the rear when the car is stationary.
In an attempt to keep the dashboard from feeling cluttered, the start/stop button is housed on the column-mounted steer-by-wire system.
Since the Ioniq 9 has no need for a transmission tunnel, the cabin has a totally flat floor.
A pair of 12-inch screens are housed in a single curved display on the dashboard with physical dials for the volume and climate controls below.
USB-C ports located in all three rows are connected to the high-voltage battery rather than the car's 12-volt.
