Hyundai's first electric three-row SUV builds on the success of the Kia EV9 but adds a larger battery and the ability to charge from 10 to 80 percent in 24 minutes while connected to a DC fast-charger.
The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 9 is the first electric three-row SUV from the brand. It joins the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 as part of Hyundai's electric lineup.
Along with sharing the Ioniq nameplate, the 9 shares the same pixel-themed styling.
The front of the car shows off a pair of vertical LEDs set into the lower fascia below a light bar that extends from fender to fender.
Styling of the silhouette remains true to the concept car with a long swooping roofline.
The rear of the car maintains the theme as well, with vertical brake lights that frame the rear glass.
The Ioniq 9 will launch with three power configurations including a rear-drive model and a pair of all-wheel-drive models.
The rear-drive cars use a single 215-hp motor on the rear axle while the AWD cars add a 94-hp motor or second 215-hp motor to the front axle.
According to Hyundai, the Ioniq 9 uses a 110.3-kWh battery pack and every model is expected to earn EPA ratings above 300 miles of range.
The new SUV will ride on an 800-volt architecture and can reportedly charge from 10 to 80 percent in 24 minutes. It will ship with the North American Charging Standard (NACS) port from the factory.
