Get ready to be confused. The gas-fed Porsche Macan will live on until 2026, which means the Macan Electric will be sold alongside its internal-combustion siblings. As of this writing, there are now four distinct trims, and here, we're taking a look at the rear-wheel-drive base model, as well as the sprightlier 4S.
The base Porsche Macan Electric places a single electric motor at the rear axle, producing 355 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque.
The Macan 4S uses the same front motor as the Macan 4, but with a beefier rear motor, producing a net 509 horsepower and 604 pound-feet.
The rear-drive base Macan EV is estimated to reach 60 in 5.4 seconds and top out at 137 mph.
The 4S, on the other hand, should see 60 in 3.9 seconds before petering out at 149 mph.
All models utilize the same 95.0-kWh battery, which weighs 1329 pounds.
The EPA estimates that the base RWD Macan EV will have a range of 315 miles, dropping to 288 miles for the 4S.
