With the introduction of the 190E 2.6, Mercedes added a six-cylinder engine to its smallest sedan.
The 190 was conceived during the oil embargo of the 1970s.
Although the 190E is smaller than the mid-size 300E, the styling similarities are apparent.
The large steering wheel is typical of Mercedes-Benz models of the time, as is the high-quality interior.
The 2.6-liter inline-six makes 158 horsepower.
Anti-lock brakes were standard, unusual for 1987.
