A look at the Honda Prologue, a new electric mid-size SUV based on the Chevy Blazer EV.
Honda calls the Prologue its first "volume EV," and this mid-size SUV shares many components with the Chevrolet Blazer EV. Built through a collaboration with GM, it provides competitive range figures and good fast-charging capabilities, but it doesn't really feel like a Honda.
The Prologue definitely looks like a Honda, as Honda designers fashioned a unique body for this model that bears little resemblance to the Blazer EV.
In terms of size, the Prologue fits in between the two-row Passport and the three-row Pilot in Honda's lineup.
The model pictured here is the top-trim Elite, which comes standard with the all-wheel drive dual-motor setup.
A single-motor front-wheel-drive configuration is standard on the lower trims.
The front-wheel-drive Prologue produces just 212 horsepower, which isn't much for a big vehicle like this.
The all-wheel-drive Prologue is more powerful, with 288 hp, but it still doesn't feel as quick as some rival SUVs.
The Prologue offers EX, Touring, and Elite trim levels.
Range estimates are from 273 miles on the lower end up to 296 miles on the top end.
The front-wheel-drive models offer more range than the all-wheel-drive models.
Pricing for the Prologue starts at $48,795 and goes up to $59,295 for the Elite.
