2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 exterior and interior photos.
The Jeep Wrangler is an anachronism by default, but the Rubicon 392 model dabbles in the absurd by adding a 470-hp 6.4-liter V-8 into the mix. And like all Wranglers for the 2024 model year, it's gained a number of improvements, including an updated touchscreen interface. On top of that, the 392 gets once-optional 35-inch tires as standard, a lift to accommodate them, and tailgate reinforcement to help shoulder the added weight of the bigger spare.
If you don't think the Jeep Wrangler makes enough power in any of its traditional variants, perhaps the 392 will fill that gap in your life.
The Wrangler 392 packs a 6.4-liter V-8 under the hood producing a square 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.
Power heads to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission, a two-speed transfer case, and solid axles at both ends.
In our testing, this 5413-pound lunker rocketed to 60 mph in just 4.0 seconds, reaching the quarter-mile mark in 12.8 seconds at 104 mph.
As you might have guessed, the Wrangler 392 is thirsty, achieving just 13 mpg on our 75-mph highway fuel-economy test.
Don't expect much in the way of lateral grip; the BFGoodrich K02 all-terrain tires managed just 0.71 g of grip on the skidpad.
The 35-inch tires on our test car used to be part of a $3995 options package, but it's been upgraded to standard equipment for 2024.
