The popular Lexus RX adds a plug-in-hybrid powertrain option this year, a first for this mid-size SUV.
The Lexus RX was redesigned for 2023, but the RX450h+ model is a new addition this year.
The RX450h+ comes exclusively in the top-spec Luxury trim level.
A naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine combines with three electric motors. All-wheel drive is standard.
Total combined output for the powertrain is 304 horsepower.
The plug-in hybrid can travel 37 miles on battery power alone, according to the EPA.
The Lexus RX450h+ Luxury comes with a 14.0-inch central touchscreen.
A digital instrument cluster is standard.
We were not fans of the fussy four-way buttons on the steering wheel.
Buttons on the center console allow you to select the powertrain mode.
The Luxury trim includes suede-like inserts on the seats as well as on the door panels; the same material is used on the headliner.
All RX models are five-seaters. (The previous RX L has been dropped.)
