From some angles, there appears to be some design inspiration taken from the Porsche Taycan, but from others the Halcyon looks entirely unique.

Rear-facing cameras mounted on the end of very slim arms help cheat the wind, and images of what's behind are projected on displays inside the car.

Active aerodynamic features include the taillight module and rear diffuser, which can extend when cruising to reduce drag.

The massive windshield extends down past the cowl, which gives the Halcyon its exotic-sports-car look from the front and increases visibility for the driver.

The rear doors are hinged at the back, so when all four doors are open there's wide-open access to the cabin.

There are even two roof-mounted panels that flip up to aid ingress and egress.

Chrysler envisions a future where the Halcyon can drive itself as well as charge wirelessly via embedded elements in the road. We're skeptical.

For now, the Halcyon is merely a concept, but Chrysler says it's built on the same platform that will soon underpin the Jeep Wagoneer S, so production is at least feasible.
