The Kia Sorento is getting a facelift, and it'll be applied to the hybrid and plug-in-hybrid models for the 2025 model year.
The Kia Sorento is getting a comprehensive update with a new look and a freshened interior. The changes will first be applied to the nonhybrid models for the 2024 model year (the 2024 hybrids carry over with the old look), but the updated hybrids will arrive in the U.S. for the 2025 model year.
We expect the hybrid version of the Sorento to have a carryover powertrain from the outgoing model.
It combines a turbo 6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with an electric motor and a six-speed automatic transmission.
Kia hasn't released specs on the 2025 Sorento hybrid, but the powertrain previously had 227 hp.
The hybrid receives the same styling tweaks as the standard 2024 Sorento.
A new blue interior upholstery option is now available on the hybrid models.
The Sorento plug-in hybrid will also continue on for 2025.
It has a larger battery pack that enables a longer electric-only driving range.
The Sorento lineup also includes nonhybrid models with either a nonturbo or turbo 2.5-liter inline-four.
