Kia has a new three-row SUV called the EV9. As its name suggests, the SUV is electric and comes with powerful electric motors and a big battery pack. Its interior is spacious and offers an interesting design, with futuristic touches and lots of features.
The EV9 is a new addition to Kia's lineup and fits above the EV6 electric SUV in terms of size and price.
Built on Hyundai-Kia's E-GMP platform, the EV9 is the largest vehicle yet on these underpinnings.
We tested the EV9 in its top GT-Line trim level.
The GT-Line comes standard with the larger of two available battery packs.
The GT-Line also has the more powerful dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup, with electric motors front and rear.
This powertrain configuration produces a total of 379 horsepower.
In our testing, the EV9 reached 60 mph in a swift 4.5 seconds.
Inside the EV9 is a modern-looking dashboard with many screens.
The screen to the left is a digital gauge cluster, while the one to the right is a touchscreen infotainment system.
Our main quibble with the ergonomics was that the steering wheel rim blocks the HVAC controls on the right.
