Toyota has a new concept car for the Tokyo auto show called the Land Cruiser Se. As its name suggests, it previews a future electric SUV that wears the nameplate of the iconic off-roader.
The first electric Land Cruiser doesn't look anything like its internal-combustion counterpart.
The Land Cruiser Se rides on a 120.1-inch wheelbase, which is about eight inches longer than the regular LC's.
One of the only ways to identify that the Land Cruiser Se is a Toyota is by the brand's name on the tailgate.
The Toyota Land Cruiser Se spans 202.8 inches from stem to stern.
The concept's narrow horizontal headlights blend into a vertical element that's similar to what's seen on the 300-series Land Cruiser that's only sold overseas.
There are no powertrain details, but it's safe to bet the Land Cruiser Se has dual electric motors providing all-wheel drive.
The concept's "floating" roof appears to be rose gold, which contrasts with the silver bodywork.
Toyota claims the Land Cruiser Se concept provides "confidence in tackling rough terrain." Perhaps this digital rendering shows it heading to said terrain.
The Land Cruiser Se has three rows of seats with room for up to seven passengers.
