The MX-5 Miata roadster is updated for 2024 with new lights and a handful of newly available features.
The Mazda MX-5 Miata has been updated with a bigger touchscreen, LED lights, and a redesigned differential that is said to improve handling. These changes were first revealed for the Japan market and will make their way to the United States for the 2024 model year.
The Miata doesn't look drastically different, but the daytime running lights have been moved from the bumper and into the main headlight units.
The headlights and taillights are now entirely composed of LEDs, and the taillight graphics are bolder than before.
The biggest news is the addition of a new asymmetric limited-slip differential, which Mazda claims improves handling by minimizing liftoff oversteer.
The differential only comes on Miatas with manual transmissions, as does a new track-ready stability control setting that gives the driver more control over the car.
Mazda says that it revised the electric power feeling to provide more natural feedback.
A new color, Aero Gray Metallic, is available, along with a fresh wheel design offered in 16- or 17-inch sizes.
The main focus inside is a new 8.8-inch screen, a sizable upgrade over the 7.0-inch display in the outgoing car.
Mazda also appears to have fitted the Miata with USB-C ports, bringing the roadster into the modern age.
The Miata also gains driver assistance features like adaptive cruise control and a brake assist that detects oncoming traffic when reversing.
When the 2024 Miata launches in the United States, the base price will likely rise above $30,000.
