They may as well call it the Boxster V, for value. The 2023 Porsche 718 Boxster T takes the convertible's base powertrain and marries it to as many handling upgrades as possible. The result is one impressive droptop, with the kind of corner-carving agility we love without sending the window sticker into orbit.
The Boxster T uses the model's base powertrain, a turbocharged 2.0-liter flat-four that mates to a standard six-speed manual transmission (a seven-speed PDK automatic is optional).
Output is unchanged from the entry-level Boxster at 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque.
In our testing, the 3069-pound Boxster T hustled to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds.
Standard equipment on the T includes a lowered suspension with adaptive dampers, brake-based torque vectoring, and the all-important Sport Chrono package. Who doesn't love an extra clock?
The Boxster T orbited our 300-foot skidpad with 1.03 g's of grip.
Sadly, Porsche has discontinued the Boxster T for the 2024 model year, so you'll have to search out a '23 model.
However, enterprising (and patient) buyers can custom-order a base Boxster with nearly every bit of the T's kit, save for its unique interior items.
That means you won't be able to get the T's grippy half-cloth seats, nor its fabric door pulls.
With an as-tested price of $83,120, the Boxster T represents a solid value in the Porscheverse.
