The 2024 BMW i7 M70 xDrive is a bona fide hustler. A pair of electric motors power all four wheels to the tune of 650 horsepower, which shoves this impressive—and impressively large—luxury sedan around with even more authority than its lesser xDrive60 sibling.
The BMW i7 M70 xDrive puts a 255-hp motor on the front axle and a 483-hp motor at the rear.
The two combine for up to 650 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque.
All 811 pound-feet are only available when launch control is activated or when the driver hits the "BOOST" paddle on the steering wheel. Otherwise, you're maxed out at 748 pound-feet.
BMW estimates the i7 M70 will reach 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. Our test of the less powerful xDrive60 variant shaved a few tenths off the manufacturer's best guess, so we're hopeful the same will occur here.

The i7 M70 also picks up an additional shear panel to stiffen the front end. Air springs with electronically controlled dampers are standard.
It's no featherweight, with BMW estimating its curb weight very close to that of the xDrive60's, or roughly 6050 pounds.
Under the body lies a battery with 101.7 kilowatt-hours of usable capacity.
When it's time to charge, the M70 can take up to 11.0 kilowatts of AC power or 195 kilowatts of DC.
