It's not hard to discern that the E-Legend EL1 electric supercar derives more than a bit of its design language from the Group B rally cars of yore. In final-production form, the EL1 will have more than 800 horsepower coming from a pair of electric motors—we were given the opportunity to take a short ride in the passenger seat of a naked development mule.
The E-Legend EL1 isn't ready quite yet, but we're sure you figured that out already.
Our first ride in this wildly styled electric supercar proved mighty promising though.
The EL1 was originally slated to carry an internal-combustion engine, but plans eventually shifted to building an EV.
With one motor powering each axle, output on the final-production EL1 is estimated at 804 horsepower and 774 pound-feet of torque.
By E-Legend's estimates, that will equate to a 2.8-second run to 62 mph, continuing on to a top speed of 186 mph.
The EL1 is pretty light for an EV, with the final production version targeted at 3950 pounds.
It's not very often you'll get to see a car with this many of its precious bits on display.
E-Legend hopes to build 30 EL1s, with an estimated price tag just shy of $1 million.
E-Legend also wants to use this chassis for additional models based on different Group B rally cars.
