See lots of detailed photos of the new Mustang GTD, a very special track-oriented version of the S650 Mustang.
The Mustang GTD is essentially a roadgoing version of the Mustang GT3 race car.
It's powered by a supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 engine that will make around 800 horsepower.
The engine will also rev to 7500 rpm and pairs with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The Mustang's rear end has numerous modifications underneath to accommodate the GTD's transaxle.
Ford claims a nearly 50/50 front-rear weight balance.
The massive wheel and tire package includes 325-series rubber up front and 345-series in the rear.
The suspension uses Multimatic's adaptive spool-valve dampers.
Ford says that the Mustang GTD will cost around $300,000.
Only 1000 to 2000 units will be built in total.
The GTD starts out as a typical Mustang body produced in Flat Rock, Michigan, but is then shipped to Multimatic in Canada for modifications.
