Check out the exterior and interior of the electric ZDX, which offers up to 325 miles of range and a 500-hp Type S model.
The 2024 Acura ZDX debuts as the brand's first electric vehicle, but underneath the mid-size SUV's stylish facade is GM's Ultium battery platform. Along with a 102.0-kWh battery with up to 325 miles of EPA-estimated range, the all-wheel-drive ZDX Type S packs a 500-hp punch, albeit with a shorter estimated range.
The ZDX has a 121.8-inch wheelbase, which is identical to the Cadillac Lyriq. However, the Acura is slightly longer and taller but a little narrower.
Along with the 500-hp Type S variant, the ZDX is also offered as an A-Spec model with a 340-hp rear-mounted motor; an all-wheel-drive version is available too.
While the all-wheel-drive ZDX A-Spec has an EPA-estimated range of 315 miles per charge, the Type S variant has a shorter 288-mile estimate.
A faux grille with a three-dimensional embossed texture and an illuminated outline help differentiate the ZDX from other Acura models.
With a peak charging rate of 190 kW, Acura claims the ZDX's battery can regain 81 miles of range in about 10 minutes.
Not only does the ZDX Type S have upgraded front brakes with larger 15.6-inch rotors and Brembo six-piston calipers, but it also rolls on exclusive 22-inch wheels that can be wrapped with all-season or summer tires.
Inside, the ZDX's dashboard boasts an 11.0-inch digital gauge cluster and an 11.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Thankfully, it also has some physical switchgear.
Every ZDX has a powerful Bang & Olufsen sound system, which boasts 18 speakers, including some that are located in the headliner.
A "floating" roof design sits above mostly smooth bodywork that's especially vivid in the new Double Apex Blue Pearl paint that's exclusive to the Type S.
With the first deliveries set to arrive early next year, the 2024 ZDX will start around $60,000; the Type S opens around $70K.
