Mercedes-AMG’s GT coupe is redesigned for the 2024 model year with a greater emphasis on luxury and practicality.
The GT coupe remains Mercedes-AMG’s most performance-oriented model after the Formula 1–engined AMG One hypercar, but its latest iteration leans more toward a grand tourer with standard all-wheel drive and a host of luxury features.
The redesigned Mercedes-AMG GT coupe will go on sale in the U.S. in the first half of 2024.
The new GT leans heavily on AMG's latest SL roadster for its mechanicals and technology.
Dimensionally, the new GT is 7.1 inches longer, 1.6 inches wider, and has an additional 2.8 inches between its axles.
The 2024 GT initially will come in two trim levels, the 469-hp GT55 and the 577-hp GT63.
New to the GT is a standard variable all-wheel-drive system.
Powering the new GT is AMG's familiar twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8.
Gone is outgoing GT's rear-mounted dual-clutch transaxle, replaced by a nine-speed automatic mounted directly behind the engine.

The GT's standard rear-axle steering can swivel the rear wheels up to 2.5 degrees.
