At first—or even second—glance, the DB12 looks like a twin to the DB11. But there are detail changes that help identify the new car.

Up front, the grille is taller and the lower air intakes larger, in order to feed more cooling air to the engine. The taller grille raises the nose of the car and is flanked by reshaped headlights.

Rear styling is much the same, although the rear finders are wider, owing to the 0.9-inch broader rear track.

All DB12s use a newly reworked version of AMG's twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8. Output increases to 671 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, up from 528 horses and 513 lb-ft for the DB11's 4.0-liter.

Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, the new engine should get the DB12 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, according to Aston.

The DB12 interior features a redesigned dashboard and center console. The latter has a ramp-like upper section with open storage underneath, which is where the wireless phone charger is.
