2024 Mercedes-AMG GLE53 exterior and interior photos.
The Mercedes-AMG GLE53 just underwent its mid-cycle refresh, and while it may not look much different, it's what you can't see that matters most. Torque is up enough to produce some solid performance gains, and while the base price has swollen a fair bit, so too has its complement of standard equipment.
From the outside, it's not easy to tell that the GLE53 has been updated.
Aside from a new front fascia, some revised LED taillights, and a new AMG badge on the hood, the GLE53 is otherwise unchanged.
Inside, there are some new colors and trim materials on offer, but that's it.
Under the hood is a supercharged and turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine mated to a 48-volt starter-generator.
Power is unchanged at 429 horsepower, but updated software and a larger turbocharger boosts torque from 384 to 413 pound-feet.
All-wheel drive is standard, as is a nine-speed automatic transmission.
In our testing, the GLE53 reached 60 mph in 4.4 seconds, an improvement of three-tenths over the outgoing model.
In fact, the revised GLE53 proved superior in every acceleration metric, including highway passes and the quarter-mile.
However, our 75-mph fuel-economy test result of 25 mpg is 1 mpg lower than the old model.
